How Include tax in order total works

How Include tax in order total works

1. How to include tax in order total.

From the Dash Board > go to Settings > Turn on the Include tax in order total button.

2. How Include tax in order total works.

The “Include tax in order total” option affects how many points are given to customers when they “complete an order” to earn points with Increments of points reward type.

For example, the Complete an order rule rewards 1 point for each Dollar spent, and the price of the product is $30.

If Include tax in order total is turned off, the total order is $30 and the customer buying the item will be given 30 points.

If Include tax in order total is turned on, the order total is $33 ($3 tax is automatically added by our system) customer buying the item will be given 33 points.

3. Avoid duplicate tax in order total.

In Shopify admin > Settings > Taxes and duties you have an option: All price include tax.

When you activate this option, Shopify assumes that you have already calculated the tax in your listing price and no tax will be added at check out when customers buy the item.

So please note that if you haven’t calculated the tax in the listing price yourself, do not activate this option.

For example, the price of the product is $1,100, if tax is included, Shopify will not add $71.96 tax at check out. The subtotal is exactly the listing price $1,100

When the All price includes tax is turned on in Shopify admin, we suggest that you turn off the Include tax in order total in BON app admin to avoid duplicating tax in order total. Otherwise, BON app will add the tax to the Shopify tax-included price.
